Good morning, 901!

It's Wednesday, November 4, and the Mid-South is waking up to election results, important community decisions, and a new round of stories that will shape the days ahead. In Tennessee, the governor's race has been called, while voters across Shelby County and the suburbs have weighed in on local leadership and ballot questions. Our election reports distinguish election-night returns from certified results.

Beyond the ballot box, we’re following an unresolved medical-training dispute involving Regional One and UT Health, encouraging graduation-rate news from Memphis-Shelby County Schools, and the latest plans reshaping Midtown businesses and neighborhoods. Sports fans have plenty to discuss, too: the Tigers opened with a ranked upset, while the Grizzlies' unbeaten start came to an end in overtime.

There is also plenty of life beyond the headlines. Inside this issue, you’ll find the story behind Folk’s Folly, new openings and closings, resources for older residents and family caregivers, fresh developments across North Mississippi, and two inviting West Tennessee outings. Our events guide offers holiday markets, music and family activities, with Downtown Dining Week just around the corner.

Thank you for joining us as another week begins. Here’s what deserves your attention around the 901.
