Suburban Election Returns: Germantown Picks Salvaggio, Collierville Faces Runoffs |
Unofficial November 3 returns bring changes in Germantown, Lakeland, Collierville and Millington |

Voters across the Memphis suburbs decided mayoral, alderman and school board contests on Tuesday, November 3, producing several leadership changes and contests requiring additional votes.
These results are unofficial election-night reports, not certified outcomes. The Shelby County election authority was still reporting ballots in its early-November 4 update.
GERMANTOWN: SALVAGGIO WINS MAYOR'S RACE
Tony Salvaggio was reported the winner of Germantown's mayoral race over Edgar Babian, succeeding Mayor Mike Palazzolo.
The Shelby County results site showed all eight Germantown precincts reporting in its early-November 4 snapshot: Salvaggio had 12,880 votes, or approximately 79%, and Babian had 3,308, or approximately 20%.
Mary Anne Gibson was also reported reelected to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen. In the same results snapshot she led Todd Adams 8,102 to 7,447 votes.
LAKELAND: ROMAN LEADS MAYORAL CONTEST
Josh Roman led Connie McCarter in the early Lakeland mayoral returns, with 2,150 votes to 1,510 in the county's approximately 4:21 a.m. snapshot.
Only two of four Lakeland precincts were shown as partially reported then, so the available totals should be treated as a lead rather than a certified outcome.
Other Lakeland commissioner and school board contests also appeared on the ballot.
COLLIERVILLE: TWO ALDERMAN RUNOFFS EXPECTED
Local election reporting said incumbent Missy Marshall won reelection in Collierville, while two alderman races were headed toward December runoffs.
Runoff dates, qualifying candidates and exact final standings should be checked against official town and election commission announcements before readers make plans.
MILLINGTON: CITY OFFICES AND SCHOOL BOARD
Millington voters selected aldermen and school board members. Local reporting identified contests for five alderman seats and three school board positions.
An official early results snapshot showed Bethany Huffman leading Position 1, Tammy Sneed leading Position 2, Chris Ford leading Position 3, Chris Everitt narrowly ahead in Position 4 and Ann Turner leading the special Position 7 contest.
The figures are unofficial; final outcomes depend on the full count, including any unresolved ballots.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Municipal leaders shape zoning, roads, public services and budgets, while school board members help govern local education.
Residents can check the Shelby County election authority's unofficial results and watch for certified results and any runoff announcements.
901 Daily will report confirmed changes as election offices complete the count. |
