North Mississippi is filling the calendar with rodeo competition, live music, fall flavors, community outings, and Halloween festivities.

For residents of Southaven, Hernando, Olive Branch, Nesbit, and the greater Memphis area, the coming days offer several reasons to get out and explore.

Here are some noteworthy events from October 22 through October 31.

Regional rodeo competitors will gather for championship performances at 1170 Star Landing Road West.

Doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m. each night, giving spectators time to settle in before the action begins.

WingFest at Silo Square

October 24 | Noon–4 p.m. | Central BBQ, 6547 Getwell Road, Southaven.

Central BBQ's inaugural WingFest promises wing specials, a wing-eating contest, vendors, music, and activities for families.

This community networking event offers a morning opportunity to connect locally.

Confirm the specific meeting location and any attendance requirements with the event organizer.

Scare on the Tanger Square

October 30 | 5–8 p.m. | Tanger Outlets, Southaven.

Families can enjoy a seasonal evening with candy, costumes, food trucks, and activities such as face painting and Touch-a-Truck.

The event is advertised as free to attend.

West End Retro Run 5K and Family Fun Run

October 31 | Morning | Southaven.

An inaugural fitness event gives runners and families another way to spend Halloween weekend together.

Confirm the race start, registration requirements, and course details before heading out.

More Halloween activities

Southaven's community calendar also lists trunk-or-treat celebrations on October 30 and October 31, including events hosted by local businesses.

Those can be convenient alternatives for families seeking shorter neighborhood outings.

Plan ahead

Event schedules, ticket prices, weather arrangements, and participation requirements may change.

Check the organizer's current details before making plans.
