DeSoto County is seeing fresh business plans and continued investment, especially in Southaven, where a new coffee shop, a major distribution facility and property acquisitions are reshaping the local development picture.

Some developments are new announcements while others are ongoing projects previously reported by 901 Daily. Here is what has actually changed—and what remains ahead.

COMING IN 2027: JoJo's Espresso Plans Southaven Location

Memphis-based JoJo's Espresso is preparing its first DeSoto County location in Southaven.

Owners Taylor and Hannah Whiddon discussed the expansion in August, and the project broke ground August 3.

The company has targeted a 2027 opening, although the final date and operating hours have not been confirmed.

For Southaven residents, the planned location would add another locally rooted coffee option when construction is complete.

NEW DISTRIBUTION OPERATION PLANNED: ALO in Southaven

Fashion and lifestyle brand ALO has announced plans for a distribution and fulfillment center in Southaven, with more than 400 jobs projected.

The project is expected to open in 2027.

901 Daily previously covered the initial announcement, so the next important milestones will be the confirmed opening schedule, recruitment information and operational start.

The anticipated jobs and opening date remain projections until the company provides further details.

PROPERTY ASSEMBLY: SpaceXAI-Affiliated Land Purchases

Recent local reporting says an affiliate of SpaceXAI purchased three homes and several acres in Southaven near its existing data-center complex.

The purchases indicate additional property assembly, but a completed sale alone does not confirm the planned use of every parcel.

Construction activity and traffic impacts have been reported separately, and any additional development should be checked against official plans and approvals.

What is still pending?

These developments are at different stages: the property transactions have taken place, while the coffee shop and distribution center remain future openings.

Watch for progress at JoJo's construction site, ALO's hiring announcements and land-use decisions related to the Southaven data-center expansion.

North Mississippi Watch will continue distinguishing confirmed changes from proposed or upcoming openings.
