Midtown Union Station Development Breaks Ground on Union Avenue |
The former police precinct site is set for townhomes, retail and a hotel in a multiphase project |

Construction has begun at Union Station, a mixed-use development planned for the former Memphis police precinct property at 1925 Union Avenue in Midtown.
The October 30 milestone marks visible progress on a project that is expected to reshape the 3.6-acre site over several phases.
What is being built first?
The first phase calls for 20 luxury townhomes, with general contractor Patton & Taylor Enterprises starting site work.
A single-tenant retail building is planned for a later phase, followed by a hotel component.
The overall development is estimated to cost between $25 million and $30 million.
Developers include G2 Venture Group, led by Sam Patel and Dipesh Patel, and Patton & Taylor Enterprises, led by Lee Patton and Cameron Taylor.
Why this location matters
The property occupies a prominent Midtown corridor near established neighborhoods, businesses and medical and university destinations.
Redeveloping a former municipal site can bring new housing and commercial activity, but the timing and final design of later phases remain important questions.
Site work beginning does not mean the homes are available for purchase or that the retail and hotel portions have opened.
Next milestones
Residents can watch for progress on infrastructure and townhome construction, permit updates and announcements about the project's future retail and hotel tenants.
For now, the confirmed milestone is the start of construction on the first phase.
901 Daily will track how the redevelopment progresses along Union Avenue. |
