Bass, Berry & Sims plans to relocate its Memphis office from Downtown to the 5000 Poplar mixed-use development in East Memphis.

The Nashville-based law firm is expected to occupy approximately 39,258 square feet in a redesigned office space.

The new location is projected to open in spring 2028, meaning the relocation is a future plan rather than an immediate change of address.

The firm established its Memphis presence in 1999 and now has approximately 43 attorneys plus support employees locally.

Firm representatives say the new setting is intended to support continued growth and changing workplace needs.

The move will add a major office tenant to the East Memphis development.

For Downtown, it also represents a notable future departure by an established professional-services employer.

Large tenant commitments can influence surrounding commercial leasing and development decisions, even before a move is complete.

The long lead time means details could change as design and construction progress.

Clients and visitors should continue using current office information until an official relocation date is confirmed.

The announced move is an important business-development signal, not a completed relocation.
